Day 20 Rode 210 miles Sioux City to Kansas City and day 21 Rode 244 miles Kansas City to Branson, MO

154 year old pickles still good. Dishes 154 years old

  Museum
Not to exciting on day20.  We did run in to a bad storm just north of Kansas City it laid down 3 1/2 inches of rain in about 15 minutes with heavy winds.  We pulled of at a truck stop and had coffee till it past. The next morning we visited a museum of a steamboat that sank on the Missouri River in 1856. It went down with 210 tons of cargo.  The boat was lost with all of its cargo but all of the passengers survived.  Later the river changed course and the boat was discovered in the mid 1980's.  It was found a 1/2 mile from the river as it flows today on a farmers field 45 feet below the surface. All the cargo was salvaged in almost new condition and now displayed in the museum.  A jar of 154 year old pickles was opened and they were still good. After the museum visit we were off to ST. Louis to visit the Gateway Arch but as we rode down the road we changed our mind and headed for Branson, MO.  We arrived about 6:15 PM.  We met Larry who worked at the motel and also worked with some of the people at the Jubilee Theater and said if we wanted to go he could get us in for free.  We took him up on his offer and enjoyed the show with him and girlfriend.  Tomorrow we plan to go to St. Louis and the Gateway Arch. Goodnight, it's past our bedtime.
